Smokey Eyes

Are smokey eyes acceptable for wedding make-up? Go for it if that's what you want! Provided the right earthy tones and dusty hues are used to compliment your dream look. Most wedding make-up is kept traditionally simple but more and more brides are now leaning towards the smokey effect as it looks great in photographs.

Tip: Always do a make-up trial to see whether the look is suitable for  you. What you see in magazines or on other brides might not necessarily be complimenting and any good make up artists would be able to advise the correct effect or shade.

Wedding Centrepieces

Floral arragements is quite the norm for wedding centrepiece options. They vary from simple chic arrangements to large exotic ones. Of recent times, brides are giving more attention to centrepieces as they are a big part of the overall wedding decoration. May your budget be little or large; the variety of ideas are endless.

Savvy Brides: Getting More for Less!

Congratulations on finding the one person you want to spend the rest of your life with, so the hardest part is over. Now, it’s about finding that someone to oversee all the wedding mayhem which shouldn’t be too difficult. Gone are the days where the young nervous bride timidly gets forced to choose something she doesn’t want whilst her mother dominantly hovers nearby. It’s understandable that brides are cutting their wedding budgets with the economic downturn, but the show still must go on.

So, the golden question that many brides-to-be ponder. “Why do I need to hire a planner?”

Honestly, this is very much an individual’s decision. Wedding planners are not as expensive as what most couples think. We work within your budget and provide everything from supporting the whole wedding process to only the actual wedding day. With the vast cultural diversity in Malaysia, mixed marriages are becoming quite common. Having to plan a simple wedding is a big feat itself, let alone the blending of two different cultures and at times even from opposite continents.

There are even career-focused brides or couples who need to alleviate the pressures of planning a wedding. As for younger brides, they normally look for assistance in personalizing their big day with whimsical, themed weddings.

Whatever you decide, we try to encourage the couple to be part of the planning process and mostly importantly to involve the family even if you’re paying. Any small gestures show that they’re much needed.

+ Size Bride

I'm proud to be +size, and I don't know why everyone seems to have a problem with it. Asians can be very narrow minded when it comes to body image; apparently only skinny is beautiful. Huff! Honestly, I rather keep the curves and bumps thank you very much. But wedding gown shopping was very daunting for me personally; especially if you want to get it off the rack. In the current Malaysian market, most of the bridal shops or even designer labels are catered for the typical Chinese gal (read: super svelte, no space for cleavage,) or for the Malays (read: some horrendous gaudy purple fru fru looking thing.) Simply ghastly. Obviously am stereotyping, but let's put it this way anything that goes beyond size 10, the cuts and designs all look like gunny sacks k.
One of my bosses asked when I was busy with my own wedding planing; "Gal, are you dieting, like all brides-to-be tend to do?" I simply replied with a cheeky smile, "I don't try to squeeze into a dress. The dress fits me." :)
So, brides-to-be don't be disheartened and be all  hung-up on your figures. All brides look beautiful on their actual day and it's your great sense of  confidence that will bring that inner glow, make the guests gasp in awe especially your hubby-to-be.

Cinderella Moment

I was once asked out of the many weddings I’ve experienced and helped to plan which was the most perfect. Honestly, the answer is simply ALL weddings are truly perfect as it’s as unique as the individuals themselves be it chic, glam, offbeat, casual or simply traditional.
What most brides forget during their wedding planning journey that the wedding is the coming together of two people and two families. Everything else is icing on the cake. Don't you agree?
